Thank you to the many ESH & LS parents who donated costumes this year’s Costume Swap! Because of their fire-retardant nature, costumes add 12,500 tons of waste to landfills every year. At the same time, they are a luxury many children in our broader community have to forego.
This year, the Donation Drive collected over 150 costumes across the two campuses. Parents had the chance to select a new trick or treat look at ESH, and all remaining costumes were donated to Cornerstone Community Outreach in time for their Halloween party for homeless families across the Chicago area. Not only did many members of the Lab Community enjoy the Swap, we were able to donate 68 costumes and 40 accessories to CCO this year!
Special thanks to our parent volunteers: Shona Vas, Laura Rust, Molly Curley, Kate Gulayev, Cheryl Hubbard, Sieglinde Lim-Seiwert, Andee Stacy, and Audris Wong.
