Welcome back to all returning families and a warm welcome to all new families to our community!
We hope you all enjoyed a wonderful summer. Our names are Manali Barua, Tiffany Flowers, Leny
Leung, Sieglinde Lim-Seiwert, Amy Liszt, and Shipra Parikh. Together, we form the Earl Shapiro Hall (ESH) Council of the Parents’Association Board and we are delighted to welcome you to ESH this school year. The beginning of the school year always brings much excitement, numerous activities, and opportunities for connection and volunteerism, and this year is no different.
Over the summer, the Parents’ Association (PA) has been busy planning various events, speakers, and school programs for the upcoming academic year. For details, please see the ESH calendar. We hope you can join us for these events, all of which will be announced on ENews and the PA website. In the meantime, please mark your calendars for the year’s first PA event:
ESH School Orientation
September 6 & 7, 2016
8:30 – 11:00 a.m. ESH Lobby
This event is open to all parents (new and returning). It is an open house, and an ideal opportunity to meet other families, staff, and ESH Council members. Parents can ask questions about school logistics ranging from Extended Day policies/programs and the nurse’s office, to car line procedures and lunchbox ideas for your children. Parents can also obtain their ID cards to enter the school building. Coffee, bagels, and muffins will be served (including gluten free options).
As a parent at Lab, you are already a member of our Parents’ Association (PA). However, there are other ways you can get involved in the life of the school– for example, you can volunteer to be a room parent, run for a position on the PA council, or help out at an upcoming school event, for example. Please fill out the General Volunteer Form on the PA website at www.labparents.org to indicate your interest in volunteering. We invite you to participate at any time throughout the school year.
Your ESH Council members are elected representatives of the parent body at Lab. We are available to answer your questions, concerns, and comments, or assist you at any time during the school year. It is a privilege to be your advocates, and we are committed to making school life as enjoyable as possible for our parent community. Here’s to a wonderful school year!
Your 2016-2017 ESH Council,
