Lab seventh graders set off to a fun roller-skating event on Friday, February 17. About 60 seventh graders participated in the grade-wide event, sponsored by the Middle School Council of the Parents Association. Two buses transported kids after school to and from Fleetwood Roller Rink, located in the village of Summit. Kids wasted no time donning their skates and taking to the rink. In a roller skating rink that has changed little since 1986, the kids enjoyed DJ-blasted tunes, flashing lights, and good old fashioned fun. Parent chaperones stood on the sidelines trading stories, and reminiscing about childhood days spent roller-skating. For those who had never roller-skated, shaky legs in the beginning gave way to confident skaters, and smiles all around by the end of the evening.
